Philip and Karen moved to Oldfield Park 8 years ago.
Working with the RUH, University of Bath, Bath Spa University and charities they found themselves loving the people and the area.
They dreamt of a place which would celebrate the Oldfield Park neighbourhood, and be a place where long-standing and new residents could pull up a chair.

For the last 7 years Karen and Philip have been taking what is in season and creating food with their family, friends and local residents.
We’ll always serve firm favourites, but expect the menu to have in it what you might find in an Oldfield Park allotment, or just how the moment is inspiring us.
Meet
The Covid-19 pandemic reminded us that life is precious and life can be up-ended very quickly. There is no better time than today to make friends with those around us.
Bright Field hosts a dedicated space that you can reserve for your friends, work colleagues or your neighbours.

Sustain
Bright Field is about doing what we can to make our world a little brighter.
We want to give back to the place where we live, and not add any more to the world’s difficulties along the way.
We’ve taken a ‘fabric first’ approach, designing a building that takes less energy, and gives as much energy as possible.
We support local suppliers, whether established business or our neighbours whose gardens have produced more than what they can use.
We love the challenge of finding a recipe to use the ingredients on hand. Where we have to buy from far away, like with coffee, tea and chocolate, it is important to us that we buy fairtrade.
Living sustainably takes thought and encouragement. Please share your wisdom, and let us know if you think our journey can help yours.
